Runtime: 4 minutes

This heart-warming journey brings Judi’s favourite tree alive in a completely new way, using some of the most advanced laser scanning, data analysis, and poetic storytelling.

Through cutting-edge graphics, created using laser data, insights into the life of Judi’s oak are revealed, allowing you to gain a new understanding of the trees within Judi Dench’s 6-acre garden. Using an incredibly detailed 3D scan of Judi’s 200-year-old oak tree the team built a 360-degree journey through Judi’s most impressive oak tree, stripping it back to reveal some surprising secrets.

Viewers will see just how many leaves are on this one tree, an incredible 260,000 – the equivalent of three tennis courts. A remarkably clever algorithm instantly transforms the branches into measurable volumetric cylinders, measuring in at a staggering 25 tonnes and stretching a mind-blowing 12km – over half the height of Mount Everest. Travelling up the trunk and deep within the branches of Judi’s favourite oak tree, audiences learn how this incredible carbon capture machine is helping to save our planet.
