CEO and Creative Director
Anthony Geffen is one of the world leading documentary film makers and a pioneer in multi-platform story telling. His films have won over 50 international awards including four British Academy Awards (BAFTAs) and seven Emmys, and multiple awards at Wildscreen and Jackson Hole.
Anthony’s diverse range of work includes 11 productions with David Attenborough, most recently the acclaimed Great Barrier Reef series. Other series include the BBC’s Inside the Commons and Galapagos. Theatrical films include Wildest Dream: Conquest of Everest and IMAX films include Museum Alive 3D.
He is the CEO of one of the most respected high end production companies, Atlantic Productions. Atlantic now comprises of a group of companies specialising in various activities which includes Zoo (computer graphics), Colossus (3D) and Alchemy (VR).
His VR experiences include Space Descent with Tim Peake, Munduruku: Fight to Defend the Heart of the Amazon and Atomic Ghost Fleet as well as First Life VR and The Great Barrier Reef Dive with David Attenborough. In April 2017 he and his team at Alchemy received the first BAFTA award for virtual reality story telling.
He has spoken at several leading media and technology forums including TEDX, Google Zeitgeist and the Apple developers conference.
Anthony is a fellow of St Cross College, Oxford.
Creative and Technical Lead
Elliot leads Alchemy’s Immersive and Digital productions focused on story-telling and quality. As an immersive experience Director, he works across all XR technologies including augmented reality, virtual reality and AI empowered experiences.
He came to Atlantic with significant experience in the XR industry producing and directing award-winning branded experiences within the agency space. This includes delivering top AR, VR and AI enhanced projects for Nike, Google, Ford, UNICEF, O2 and UEFA. Beyond his creative work, Elliot has developed capture and post-production pipelines for immersive content, including bespoke camera solutions, VFX workflows and photo/videogrammetry systems. He has worked alongside hardware and software development including Adobe, Nokia OZO and Foundry toolsets.
Elliot started his career in factual exploration production, working with The Royal Geographical Society, the United Nations and the BBC across a range of different initiatives.
Head of Immersive Productions
Working in interactive production for more than seven years. Vianney had successfully led several productions for Cultural Institutions, International Brands and Innovation Centres, integrating the latest immersive technology.
Coming from a background in Digital Design, had has an understanding of some of the core areas in multimedia, including Animation, 2D/3D design, Development, and a sweet spot for User Experience.
Started his career working on the Facebook platform for brands as a social media and mobile specialist in India then moved to London to be an interactive producer experimenting with the latest technologies. In collaboration with international brands technologies available in Web, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and the last two years Mixed Reality.
Iona assists Alchemy’s projects across the creative and production.
Iona first joined Atlantic as a technical assistant across IT and Alchemy where she worked on bug testing and fixing as well as running demonstrations. Her broad range of technical and creative skills allow her to contribute across fields.
Previously Iona worked as a camera operator and a videographer for companies such as the Edinburgh International Festival and Pleasance Theatre Trust. She also worked as a freelance graphic designer.
Bhaumik has extensive experience within the 3D industry in various roles that include the Oscar winning feature film Gravity, Bafta winning high-end TV series Natural History Museum Alive 3D and large multi-screen museum installations in 6K.
Bhaumik primarily works with Maya, but has branched into the interactive industry – creating a variety of VR and AR experiences using Unity and Unreal drawing on experience gained while working on 3 published games.
Danial started out as a UX Designer before moving into production as a Runner. Shortly after, he completed his Masters in VFX at Escape Studios after which he began his career as a Producer. He has worked with the likes of Adidas, Lenovo, Sony and others to deliver impactful CGI, AR and Web-GL content.
Head of Post Production Operations
Ben McGuire leads Atlantic’s Post Production activities. His attention to detail and technical knowledge ensures that every bit of content that is delivered by the Atlantic Group is at the maximum quality. Whether it is a traditional television format, or an emerging technology Ben works with Atlantic’s creative team to ensure their creative vision for the project is delivered to the highest standard. He has ensured that exclusive footage of the Crown Jewells was presented to the world in The Coronation (BBC, Smithsonian FreMantle Media) to the highest standard; and that each brushstroke of Paul-Émile Borduas’ Figures Schématiques was clear and detailed for fine art dealer Heffel Auction House’s Virtual Reality gallery.
Ben came to Atlantic Productions with 15 years working in Post Production management, spanning many formats including Feature Films, Feature Documentary, Drama, Factual Entertainment, Multi-Camera Music Concerts and Specialist Programming. Shows that he has worked on have won Baftas, Griersons, Lumières, Jackson Hole, Wild Screen and RTS awards.
Having first worked with Atlantic as an external Post Producer on several of their ground-breaking and award-winning David Attenborough Programmes, Ben is well placed to continue to help the Atlantic Group deliver content at the forefront of emerging technologies.
Head of Finance
Chris Ellis leads the Atlantic Group’s finance activities with a focus on robust business modelling, budgeting and laying a firm foundation in the companies’ financial processes and planning. His strong grip on statutory and management accounting and disciplined approach to cost control and treasury management gives the Group a solid backdrop against which to thrive.
With over a decade of experience in public practice accounting, Chris has managed the statutory accounting and tax compliance for a portfolio of private businesses from varied industries and sizes in his most recent role at Crowe Horwath Australasia, the 9th largest accounting and advisory services firm in the world and 5th largest in Australia. Chris has complimented his experience in accounting compliance with several large corporate finance, internal audit and forensic accounting projects.
Chris is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) and holds a Bachelor of Business with a double major in Accounting and International Business from the James Cook University, Cairns, Australia.
Museums Partnership Advisor
Emily Smith leads the companies’ museum and cultural sector relationships.
Prior to joining Atlantic Emily worked for London’s Natural History Museum where she worked as Head of Communications leading on the PR and marketing strategies on key launches including the opening of the Darwin Centre in 2010, the record breaking exhibition Animal Inside Out and Atlantic Productions’ 3D documentary Natural History Museum Alive 3D. She then moved onto Head of Audience Development where she led the programming of temporary exhibitions, events, digital strategy and marketing. In this role she oversaw the implementation of the virtual reality experiences David Attenborough’s First Life VR and David Attenborough’s Great Barrier Reef Dive VR into the public programme and the launch of the new museum website and CRM system.
Emily spent over 20 years in the cultural sector working in marketing and communications roles for some of London’s leading cultural organisations including the Royal Court Theatre, London Philharmonic Orchestra and National Gallery.
Raya has been with Alchemy since it started in 2014. Since then her role has developed and expanded as the company has grown. Raya has helped to create the financial systems and procedures within Alchemy and the wider Atlantic group.
Raya oversees the team of finance assistants and is responsible for the financial reporting for the Atlantic Group and Alchemy. She prepares the management accounts; management/administration of the financial systems; monthly payroll and the year end audit process.
Before Atlantic Raya worked at Princess Productions as an assistant accountant, which was her first job after graduating from Kingston University with an Accounting and Finance degree. Prior to this she studied an International Baccalaureate at St. Andrew’s College in Dublin. Raya is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
